Effective immediately, the income guidelines for Access to Care have increased to 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. A single individual can earn up to $34,470 and be eligible for Access to Care. The person must also meet the other requirements for the program.
* Live in suburban Cook County or northwest Chicago (west of Pulaski Rd AND north of North Ave,)
* Have a family income of less than 300% of the federal poverty guidelines
*Have no health insurance (or a deductible of $1,500 or more per person) and ineligible for Medicare, Public Aid or CountyCare
Since the inception of the Acess to Care program in 1988, it has served over 100,000 individuals. This is the first time the income guidelines have increased.
For those individuals who do not qualify for CountyCare, Access to Care may be the answer.
